Summit’s workshops are equipped and staffed to provide all engineering services needed in the repair and maintenance of JT8D and JT3D engines including modifications, repair, overhaul, and component changes, dry and chemical cleaning, and the work necessary for Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directive compliance.

Correct balancing is one of the most important aspects of jet engine assembly, and this operation is a Summit Aviation speciality. All rotating parts are balanced prior to assembly and all modules are dynamically balanced during the building of the engine.
Schenk static and dynamic machines are used to ensure that this vital operation is carried out with the necessary accuracy and precision.

At Summit Aviation, experienced Aerospace NDT personnel ensure that a full NDT Inspection facility is available covering Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Eddy Current and Ultrasonic disciplines.
