Summit Aviation is a UK company specialising in Pratt and Whitney JT3D engine repairs. We also offer support and maintenance services for its sister engine the JT8D. Our workshops are fully equipped for overhauls, repairs and component changes, with work necessary for Service Bulletin and Airworthiness Directive compliance.
For several years, Pratt and Whitney turbojet and turbofan engines have formed the mainstay of civil and military aviation operations. Our company was founded in 1991 – some 33 years since the first Boeing 707 was built – using Pratt and Whitney JT3D turbofan engines. Over 15 years since Summit Aviation was formed, we still offer unrivalled maintenance and repair services.
As well as offering JT3D engine repairs, we also offer test cell facilities at Gloucestershire airport. This includes an engine thrust facility, exhaust gases silencing facilities and an array of computerised instrumentation.
Though JT8D and JT3D engine repairs are carried out at our base in Broadstairs, Kent, we can also offer engineering support anywhere within the world working to EASA 145 Standards - from Ringway to Riyadh.
